Stainless steel sinks resist staining and corrosion but they are not completely immune. Cleaning often will help keep your sink in good shape, but using spray wax will help keep it nice and shiny. We want to help you make your kitchen shine so we put together a step by step process for waxing your stainless steel sink.
1. Wash your sink down with warm water. The wax can trap dirt if the sink is not thoroughly cleaned first.
2. Soak a sponge with warm water and add a couple of drops of dish soap. If the sink has any crusted stains you can use baking soda to get them off. Scrub the whole thing down.
3. Use a clean towel to make sure the entire sink is dry. The wax will not settle if it is still wet.
4. Use a natural nontoxic spray wax to coat the entire sink. You should hold the bottle a few inches away when spraying to make sure everything gets coated evenly.
5. If your wax requires it, you will use a soft cloth to buff the sink. Buffing is just wiping the sink down with even pressure.
6. Reapply the spray wax whenever you are cleaning your sink. This will help to prevent staining and corrosion as well as keep your sink nice and shiny!
